ABOUT ANDY SYDOW

It is no surprise that 21 year old Andy Sydow spent the summer of 2012 opening for the likes of Delbert McClinton, Dick Dale, Bob Margolin and Clay McClinton, and did opening sets for both Michael Franti & Spearhead, and Kid Rock at the 2012 Jazz Aspen Snowmass music festival. His superior New Orleans style piano playing and unique style of slide guitar have his band placed amongst one of the top rising acts in Denver. Born in Texas in 1991, and bred in Boulder, his music dabbles in Southern Rock, swampy Blues slide guitar, Americana and Folk. He began playing piano and saxophone at an early age, and started the guitar and harmonica in high school. Andy is currently a working musician and a music performance major in jazz piano at The University of Colorado at Denver. Both as a solo act, and with his band, Sydow has been packing clubs in Denver for the last two years. His live shows represent his soulful style and heavy New Orleans influence. He plays with a sousaphone, tenor sax, and a drummer. He is the piano player for internationally recognized Claim Jumpers Traditional Jazz band, as well as the equally well traveled gypsy jazz group, Paramitcha. He has also played nationally as a solo act. His first EP, "Mountain Town" was released in May, and all four songs have received radio play nationally. His first full length album is due out in the early part of 2013.
